Climate Action
Many Orthodox churches in Ethiopia preserve a belt of forest around their buildings to resemble a renewed Eden. Those sacred forests are now providing the seeds for restoration in the larger landscape, which has been decimated by extractive agriculture. The government has undertaken a Green Legacy Initiative to foster a greener, more climate resilient country, with tree-planting as one part.

Weekday Wanders: Northern Bruce Trail Hikes (Sep 8 – 11) – Enjoy a multi-day series of loop hikes along the northern Bruce Trail. A complete list of hike locations is available at slmc.ca/retreats.
Catching the Spark is a four-week series that explores engaging, interactive ways of reading the Bible. Together, we’ll slow down, ask good questions, pay attention to the details of the text, and discover how context, culture, and literary artistry can deepen our understanding of Scripture.
